Lisetta Carmi: Suonare Forte

From September 22nd to January 22nd Gallerie d’Italia will host “Lisetta Carmi: Suonare forte“, the first major monographic exhibition dedicated to one of the most interesting personalities of the Italian photographic world who recently passed away at the age of 98.

The exhibition is composed of more than 150 photos from the 60s and 70s, including some of her signature works, like the extraordinary reportage “I Travestiti“, a one of a kind work that became a source of inspiration in the 70s. Suonare Forte also boasts Carmi’s documentation on childbirth, photography works dedicated to the working world in Italy and abroad, and her portraits of Ezra Pound.
