The Photography of Robert Doisneau

This namesake exhibition is a major retrospective on French master Robert Doisneau, one of the most important photographers of the 20th century. It houses more than 130 images from the collection of the Atelier Robert Doisneau.

Starting with one of the world’s best-known photographs – the shot of a kiss of a young couple indifferent to the crowds of passers-by and the traffic on the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville in Paris – the exhibition explores the work of the famous photographer who, together with Henri Cartier-Bresson, is considered one of the founding fathers of French humanist photography and street photojournalism.
